I've read some threads on this site and i tried them, some didn't work for me, others brought me down, but there were the select few that i tried that i didn't get why, but they worked. I just want to let all my fellow DJs know. It's your life do what ever the **** you want. Back when i was living by the post i read here i relized these threads DJs give you are tips and advice. YOU ARN'T OBLIGATED TO DO WHAT THEY SAY. let me say that again YOU ARN'T OBLIGATED TO DO WHAT THEY SAY. I learned this the hard way my life was terrible back when i was doing these things i thought i HAD to do what the threads said, and it was a disaster. i couldn't keep my cool i was all *****ing like "o my god i talked more then 25% of the time o i'll never be a DJ like that". If i had a time machine i'd go bak and slap myself for being a little *****. It's your life you have your own beliefs, if you read something here you don't agree with DONT DO IT even if everyone's like "BUMP, good post, good advice, and etc". What you think matters more then what everyone else thinks because your the one becoming a DJ and you know what's good for you.

"Hard work can buy anything"

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

The thing with this site is that there are a lot of newbie people and a few "DJ's". Some of the DJ's, immersed in a "be a man" "suck it up" etc. culture, seem to get frustrated with the AFC's and often resort to short, vaguely-angry posts that do more to dishearten than enlighten.

Of course, sometimes this is valid, as you'll see a bunch of posts here in the "my girlfriend dumped me, how do I get her back" variety.

I really think there should be some sort of section on the site for newer arrivals and DJ's in training, so we can seperate those who are looking for first steps from those discussing the finer tips. We already have one for "The Mature Man", which is great.

Anyhow, just to expand on what you are saying, that's right that you don't have to do everything people here say you should. At least... not all at once. You have to do it in steps, baby steps. The DJ Bible is a good read for this, and boot camp - while pretty scary in its entirety - is at least a good framework for starting from scratch.
