"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Some of the best advice my grandfather (God rest his soul)bgave me was "Don't get a woman you like, get a woman that likes you." He was married to my grandmother(God rest her soul) for 54 years but also had another wife and family simultaneously and they knew about eachother even though my grandmother would pitch a fit whenever her or her children called. He loved and provided for both of them but they loved him more. It's hard advice to follow but I think its very true...

Lately this advice has been ringing in my head...There is one girl who I know really likes me and has been giving me the vapors for the last couple weeks...She's attractive and I like her but I don't have this overwhelming attraction for her like I have for a couple of the others I've wrote about here. As usual my more light casual demeanor with her only intesifies her attraction for me...She's a very sweet girl, much more wife material than a fling...We work together and live very close so if I were to pursue a relationship with her I would have to pretty much break it off with anyone else plus I wouldn't want to hurt her...So what do you think...Should I follow Grandaddy's advice?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Well just my opinion, just cause a girl likes me doesn't qualify her as a girl I'm going to pursue a relationship with. I do enjoy a challenge and if I like a girl and she doesn't like me that much then I just need to work some wee magic. I say shoot for the girls you really want first, don't settle for something you aren't sure about.

I like that advice. I mean, it's different. But honestly you want to go for the girls you like, but a lot of the time they don't like you. You get them, and then you can just tell that something's missing becasue they don't care for you the same way you do for them. I know i don't like settling, but honestly having a girl like you is the best feeling in the world. I mean, if there's some attraction there towards the girl, and she likes you, then you might as well see what happens, cause who knows. It could bloom into something magical.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Mormon's don't have more than one wife. Polygamy ended a long time ago. Now it's only the break offs from the mormon church that are polygamists.

No he wasn't a mormon

My grandmother was his legal wife but the other woman was his wife too...He took care of her and her family and she and her kids took his last name.

Someone sent me a private message asking if I had any more of his advice to share so if you're interested here's a copy of it.

Well there's a whole lot. I spent alot of time with him. He was my role model. They used to call me his shadow. Usually I don't remember his words until some situation in my life relates to it...I'll try to remember a couple of gems though...

"Don't let anyone treat you better than you treat them." This one is referring to how aquaintances will do "favors" for you that you didn't ask for to try to enduce a feeling of you owing them something. Many times they try to collect twice as much back or use it as some type of leverage.

"If I can't be one of the leaders I don't want any part of it." self explanitory

"Anything you need twice you need to own"

"Anything worth doing is worth doing right"

"Give God some of your time."

I'm really drawing a blank but here's a story he told me that exemplifies his Swagger...

When he was in the army, he was sitting at the bar and a woman approached him, "Hey soldier, you got any money?" He calmly replied, "Yeah, I got some money. Don't I look like a man that would have some money." She replied, "Good, then you can buy me a drink." So he grabbed her and spun her around so they were side by side facing a nearby mirror and calmly said..."Look at you and look at me...Now who do you think ought to be buying who a drink?"

He was a very hard worker...a brick mason and later in life a contracter...excellent conversationalist he could charm the pants off anyone...women in their twenties would be hitting on him even when he was in the hospital in his 80s(he looked maybe 60) but he didn't like dealing with them partly because he had a heart condition...He wasn't a rich man...Very modest house that he built himself. However he always dressed sharp andbhe liked cars and guns. Never had less than 10 guns...Never had less than three cars plus a couple work vehicles...Think old school vettes, porches and jaguars. He would buy them for a few thousand, maybe put a new paintjob on them, drive them for a few months to a year and then sell them, so he would make a little profit and always have some new ride to look cool in...(which brings to mind another one of his sayings "Never love something that can't love you back.") He was like a small town hero...He was the big fish in the little pond...

This is my little tribute to my grandaddy I miss him alot
