The main reason I have Social media is to keep in touch with family and old friends from the past. Also to keep me informed of current trends or breaking news. Other than that, I would say for me personally, it doesn't really make a difference in my dating life.
I'd say it probably would if to leave an impression of some sorts or as social proof just in case you know a girl and your friends with her on social media. But I don't use it as my main source of meeting new women.
