People are mainly concerned with thier appearance in the eyes of others. It is an obsession.
Why does the girl turn you down when you flat out offer sex?
Social Boundaries! She does not want to get labeled a slut, so you must give her an excuse to sex you up.
Why is the guy affraid to approach?
Social Boundaries! He knows that, if he gets rejected, his friends will rag on him, so he must find some self-worth that will stand after his friends rag on him.
Social Boundaries are put in place for an ideal society. Obviously, they are geared against sex. They are more geared towards the 'ideal' relationship:
The Ideal Relationship:
Boy meets Girl. They like each other, but are very akward at showing it. (Aww, how cute!) After a talk with Grandpa, Boy asks girl out on a date. (Wise old Granpa at work again!) They date for a while and fall in love. (Love, because lust is evil, it must be!) They are still young and horny, so they get married to have sex and kids. (Many, many, many kids!)
Not In This Lifetime!
Unfortunately, for those who think they are "morally enlightened", that does not work in real life! We are human, with desires that go beyond the realm of 'pure logic and morallity'.
Most of the boundaries set in place seem like some cloisterd philosopher put them there in his assumed knowledge.
There are already boundaries nature has in place. STDs and kids already ensure that there is not 'too much' promiscuity.
Why do people think it is wrong to act natural?
Defy those social boundaries. No one truly believes in them, and if you stand up for yourself then NOONE will critizise you.
They are just angry at you when you defy those social boundaries, because THEY want to defy them also.
