"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

So what was it that REALLY made you re-examine yourself?

I'm not sure if this topic should be here or in "Anything Else" but seeing as I just posted a topic over in AE, I thought this one might be suitable here.

What situation were you in that really compelled you to rethink where you went wrong with females?

My situation immediately brought me back here. I knew of this place before I got involved with this girl but I never read too much on here. I just assumed that I knew what I was doing since I originally had her wrapped around my finger. If any of you have ever seen the movie "Hitch", you'll see how closely my situation resembled that of Will Smith's character before he became "The Date Doctor".

During the summer of 2004, I was in a metal band. We toured around the area through different counties. We were actually gaining popularity in the surrounding region. While I was in the band, this girl that I had met previously wanted so badly to hang out with me. Of course, I was never available because I worked and then did shows with the band. All she could was call me. That wasn't enough for her. The less we spoke to each other, the more she wanted me. I had no idea that at the time I was amplifying her attraction for me. I just knew that she couldn't get enough of me. By the end of summer and near the beginning of senior year in high school, I finally had to see her. It was the same as any other time that I saw her. I made fun of her, teased her, tickled, through her off the sofa, etc. all with a playful attitude. I still had no idea what I was doing. This was just how I was.

Right now, the situation sounds great...it gets worse from here on out...

The more time I spent with her, the more I wanted to see her even more. She did talk to me about having a relationship, and when I finally wanted one, she told me that she wanted one too, although she wouldn't have time. I was understanding and just decided to call her on the phone frequently. There was BIG mistake number one. I called her practically every day for two weeks. From there, I continued fvcking up each time. I became more and more desperate. It got so bad for me that at very moment that I had the opportunity to have sex with her, I told her exactly how I felt...almost. It just went downhill from there. Over time, she began seeing other guys and I wondered what I had done wrong. Eventually, she gave me the LJBF speech and how she wanted everything to be platonic.

After all the emotional stress I put myself through, I finally came back here to figure out what I did. I know exactly what I did. My life in that area has changed significantly and for the better. I'm doing so much better than she is right now. While she continues looking for her "Knight in shining armor", I'm off talking and striking the interest of many females. My old, re-born, lifestyle has given me back what I could've had originally: phone numbers, names, sex, a female who obsessed over me for a while, etc.

It only took a few mistakes for me. How about you?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
