"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I have been wanting to date this girl I work with for some time. She's just been recently divorced and so we start dating. All has been going great! Then she went to her family's for a function. And her ex was there. Apparently her father invited him.
She was upset and so was I but I didn't show it. She texts me for a few days and then I recieved a text yesterday that stated she was very upset in dealing with everything. She said she wanted to focus on herself. I haven't been texting her every waking moment, calling every second, etc.
I've been divorced and I understand what she is going thru. Knowing what you know from this post..do you think I need to back off totally, back off but send occasional texts from time to time or find someone else to date?

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Hmm - check out this thread that MattC posted a few days ago:

He just married a divorced woman and is dealing with some issues there, and they didn't have kids.

I think you should back off. But first, how old are you? If you are in your mid-20's, I would wonder why you would want a woman with baggage when there are plenty around that age who don't.

i'd say her interest in waning, recent divorce or not. I am currently dating a recently divorced woman (something I never thought I would find myself doing). She always makes plans to see me, cooks me food, rubs my back, sex on demand etc. Point being, there is extra baggage with divorce, but if she is interested she will NOT confuse you. Just like any other woman.

I've went thru so many bad dating experiences over the years..it was good to finally meet someone that was not totally incompatible. I suppose I got my hopes up.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Why did she get divorced? Divorce is common now so there should be no problems unless she has kids. She might be thinking of going back to her loser hubby, that's why she's giving you the cold shoulder. My advice is lay off and go ghost. Spin plates. I don't think it will end well for you if you get with her but that's my hunch.
