"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

In the mature forum I think it can be agreed that the reason we adopt the DJ mindset is in order to have options when it comes to choosing the right prospect to settle down with. Furthermore we also know that dating younger women can be a hell of a lot of fun, but they are notoriously flaky and as such are not usually LTR material.

We've all been in the position of dating someone a lot younger, she's cool, she's fun to be with, she's clever, she's hot as all hell and she has potential. I believe all women mature eventually, but the age at which they do varies wildly. What are the signs that a hot young babe has IMMINENT POTENTIAL as an LTR? What are the signs that she's looking to settle down? Hell, what's the longest you've kept one of these beautiful creatures on hand in the hope of securing an LTR in the future?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

honesty, empathy and a realstic outlook on life.

if her attitude is "girls just wanna have fun", to quote cindy lauper, she aint there yet.

if she values honesty and empathy over your pay check and being showered with attention, then she's got potential.

Just remember the first part of 'Settle Down' is "settle."

Never settle.

Maturity, etc.

I always hear about how guys don't grow up -- I could be the poster child for this, who knows -- but over the years I've been shocked at the immaturity of women.

I figured when I got into my 30's and older, women in their 30's and older would be wise and wonderful. Instead, I ran into more freaks than I did when I was dating gals in college during my early 20's.

A Ph.d. whom I dated a little went through guys like a hot knife through butter, jumping into bed with a guy on a trip to Vegas then wondering why he didn't care for her. (Duh! He wanted to get laid and that was it.)

A 30-year old with a couple degrees and vast job experience having a f-ck buddy and wondering why he won't hold her hand in public. (Duh! He just wants to get laid.) Meanwhile, missing out on a bunch of quality guys right in front of her face (I was one of those) and whines, "Guys just use me for sex." (Duh! You act like a *****, you get treated like one.)

Another 30-something who can't hold onto a guy, but always says it's the guy's fault. Another 40-something who was sleeping with two guys at once (not me, thank God, though she wanted me to be No. 3; the other two knew about each other ... AFC city), then *****ing about her love life. Got divorced for really no good reason, leaving a baffled 8-year old to wonder what happened.

And I have stories of 40+ who are just as immature and can't handle relationships/men in a calm, caring, or mature way.

There's a reason why guys date younger in this country, women really get bitter in their 30's and up and rarely grow up. Go to the bookstore and there are all these books about women coming into their own in their 30's and 40's ... I haven't seen it. Honestly? Women appear to be in their prime in their early 20's, then the bitterness and dirtbag chasing sets in and you can't stop it.

At least that's been my experience. Perhaps it's different in other countries ... I hope so.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
