I've had LTRs with two of these- the really "sweet quiet romantic type", and they both ended up doing something stupid to sabotage herself, then ended up depressed and going through a "get drunk and blow everyone" phase.

Two questions: Were they damaged goods from the beginning; was it bound to happen and not possible to prevent?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
