Even though I've worked hard on my image and confidence, I still have a definite "shy guy aura" that girls pick up on. I'll be thinking that I'm doing everything right then they'll blindside me with a comment (one example: "you seem like you read books a lot when you were a kid"). I know the confidence thing has been done to death here, but even after more than a year of practice I still must be putting out shy vibes unconsciously. That's just an example, I get other comments that aren't really insulting per se but it lets me know that they find me kind of dorky or whatever. I do get women, but they're usually fat or sluts. The ones I want go for the "studly cool guy" rather than the "guy who might be cute but is also goofy" like me.
