"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

A HB recently began working at our company. She is a temp and is only working with us for a couple of months. My senses detected that there was something not right about her, but the truth what I expected.

An acquaintance of mine had allegedly been out on a date with her. For reasons unknown, he felt the need to run a background check on her afterwards and discovered, without her knowledge, that she is married and she is trying to hide this fact at all costs. He wanted to get this off his chest and told me. I was skeptical until he showed me indisputable evidence - it's true.

Personally, it's nothing I need to concern myself with. However, a friend of mine has recently begun hanging out with her and I get the feeling he is developing feelings for her. I don't want my friend to get burned, but the girl's backstory isn't my business. What's the right thing to do?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Burn your friend.
If that's what's needs to be done then do it. Be a man of action rather then hope that he won't get hurt.

I'm not burning my friend - she is. I have no feelings.

Then just tell him. What's the worse that happens? You lose a friend who doesn't value your opinion?

If he's a good enough friend that he would tell you if the situation was reversed, then tell him. Otherwise it's his problem.

Why are you guys doing background checks on girls?

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

My acquaintance felt jilted or something to that effect and saw her ring, so he investigated. I'm an innocent bystander. Acquaintance wanted to tell someone and I happened to be nearby.
