One on One
Master Don Juan
I was basically a recluse for the first 20 years of my life. I rarely went out, spent too much time on the internet, etc. Don't think of some lone ranger out in Montanta, but think of a dorky AFC kid. Anyways, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that I don't have many stories in my life. I am extremely inexperienced. I even don't have relatives that I ever see, which, if you think about it, limits your range of experiences even more because my immediate family was basically all I experienced life through.
So, no matter how much better I've gotten at conversations, I still don't always have interesting things to say. I am considering making up some personal stories about vacations, girls, or anything to make myself more interesting.
What prompted me to do this was an encounter at a restaurant tonight with a really cool dude. I was chilling with my friends after a ****ty night, smoking some hooka, and we found ourself in a conversation with two other guys.
One of these guys was a smooth-talking car salesman and he had quite an interesting life. In about 20 minutes of conversations, he was talking about all kinds of interesting stuff...girls he dated, wild trips to South Beach, etc. Honestly, this guy is like what you'd expect Senor Fingers to be if you met him! He was that guy who loved life and love to experience life. I found him very interesting and I realized that I really couldn't add much to a conversation with him.
I feel like I can converse on an abstract, theoretical level about anything, meaning I can talk about what I'd do in girl situations, what I'd do in any situation. But, this is no substitute for actual experience. This becomes obvious after talking to me long enough.
So, should I make up stories about my life to make it seem more interesting? I gotta be careful not to get myself buried too deeply in lies when my friends are around, but I wouldn't mind throwing in a few fake stories to people I meet. I could exaggerate and say I dated girls I actually just hung out with a few times.
