"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Should I ignore her for a while?

I went out with this girl 3 times in 2 weeks. She told me she felt like we click and have great chemistry, and that she feels really confortable around me. She was texting me out of the blue like everyday, she was doin all the texting not me, id just respond. This past weekend we were supposed to go out sat but she had a cold, and then she said lets do it monday, but she was still sick so cancelled again on monday. Wat i find weird is she didnt suggest another day again. I said how bout friday, she said she had people comin to see her from out of state all weekend. so then i say wednesday? she said she was busy. And she didnt suggest anythign else. She was acting all girfriendish sneding me little cute texts every day. i wasnt overbearing her at all,it was all her. I dont get it. She seemed cold on thephone too like she was talkin to a relative.

Should i be persistent and ask her to do somethin for next week ina few days. Or should i play it cool and kinda ignore her for a while and let her come back to me. I cant tell if this chick is playin hard to get, or just lost interest all of sudden.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Wait one/two weeks, and call her again, if she's at it again, you next her.

Yes, ignore the **** out of her.

This sound familiar. Read my very first post here where I'm flipping out over some girl I met off the internet who pulled the same shyte.

In my case, there was another guy in the picture. I backed off and eventually she started pursuing me again.

Wow that sounds exactly like my situation! I'm not gonna lie, im crazy about this girl after 3 dates. Somethin about her just tells me shes perfect for me. I've been on alot of dates, had 4 gf's and never clicked with someone this well. I am sad to say i am obsessing over this a little, cuz like ur girl, this one was showing huge signs of being into me. Inviting me to her place on the thrid date. makin out with me on her couch for along time, leaning on me for the whole movie at her house. Texting me all the time, asking me how my day was goin out of the blue. 2 and 1/2 hr AIM conversations till lke 2 AM, when she has to be up for work at 4:30 AM. I mean i don't get it, what did i do? I think i messed up asking her if she was still using match.com. She prob lost all attraction for me right then and there cuz she knew i wanted her big time, by askin her that.

Tell me if this is a good plan. Im not gonna IM her on aim until she does. I'll be brief too, and a bit cold. Then like sunday night ill call her to chat for a few mins and at the end of the convo ask her if shes free during the week to meet for dinner. is that ok? I also have some immature ideas like trying to get girls to send me flirty comments on my myspace, cuz i know she checks it all the time.

Doesn't make sense, does it?

I accidently spilled a glass of beer on this girl when we were out, called her six times on her cell because it kept disconnecting, and told her yes when asked if I was "into her". I was sure one of those was the reason she was ignoring me. Nope, just some other guy.

The greatest lesson I learned off internet dating was never, ever start thinking that you have her and can stop pursuing other women. There are too many variables, and too many other guys on there to choose from. Until she's asking to be exclusive, you treat her like anyone else and keep spinning plates. It's difficult if she seems to stand out more than the others, but that's what you have to do.

Rather than try to get some fake messages on myspace, here's an even better idea: Get them for real, and for yourself, not to make her jealous. Go write to 20 more women on match/myspace, go meet some more in real life, etc. Don't pretend to be busy or seeing other women, actually do it. It'll boost your confidence and take your mind off her. Then, if you do talk to her again you won't have to tell her you have other options, she'll know it by your attitude.

The best thing you can do is let her go and keep busy. Maybe give one more try in a week. Who knows, it worked out in my situation.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
