"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

This Saturday I went to my company Christmas party with a girl I've been talking to for a little while. Of course we had a blast. Followed all the rules. Gave her a little bit, then took it away. Teased her. Kinoed the hell out of her and by the time we left she couldn't keep her hands off of me.

We decided we'd go to a club afterwards since we were all dressed up and she said she had to call her friend and invite her to come with us. I kept my cool and said, "Well, I'm feeling a little stingy, so I'd like to keep you all to myself tonight." No dice. She said she promised and called anyway.

We get back to my place and that's where everything went downhill. Bumped into another girl I've been talking to in the hallway. Once again, kept my cool. Introduced the two, had a brief conversation with girl #2 and went about my way.

Fast forward. My friend is a cab driver, so I have him pick us up. We head downtown and it's starting to rain. We stand in line for the club and we're being soaked. We go to another club and it's the same thing. Finally I make the decision to go home. They agree and ask me to call my friend again. I call and he says "3 minutes". We wait and we're still soaked. Finally my date says, "Why are we just standing here. Why can't we just get in any cab?" I'm frustrated, and misreable and lose it. "If you're gonna pay for this cab, by all means, lets go, but if you're not, you have no reason to complain about anything." She loses it and the last words I hear are "F*#K You! With those words, I simply walk away and hop in another cab.

She left some things at my place, so of course she had to come back. Didn't say a word to me. She thanked my friend for paying for the cab ride home and asked if he needed any money for the ride. I chime in "You don't have any money on you, so what are you gonna do, write him a check?" She didn't comment. Her friend said her good-byes and that was that.

Now, this girl was cool as hell and I could always count on having fun with her whenever we went out. Not really saying that I'm trying to hold this girl down as a girlfriend, but she definately has all the qualities I go for. At the sametime, there are plenty of other girls that in the world I haven't even met, seen or dreamed about. So should I aplogize or just let it go?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

She disrespected you. Like Pook said, you don't reward disrespect. You handled yourself appropriately and said the right thing. Believe it or not, in your willingness to stand up to her and be a man. You made her respect you. Hell it probably even turned her on. I suggest, you her to hang out and act like nothing ever happened. If she brings up the inicident, say your were pissed because your socks were wet and you hate having wet socks. She'll probably laugh. Then change the subject.

Act as if nothing happened. If she brings it up say that you were disrespected and that's why you had to snap. Keep your cool. DO NOT make excuses for standing up for yourself.

Nah - sounds like a waste of time. She didn't really say much for you to fly off the handle there. So most likely her interest level is gone now.

Thanks for the advice guys. She did send a text message today, but I think I'm gonna focus my attention on the girl I introduced her to in the hallway for a while. At least until I feel that everything is long forgotten.
