Can anyone explain to me why some girls flirt with everyone except you as a way to spark your interest?
------------------
Here is my scenario:
I joke around with this girl from school a lot (her name is Jen, aged 20). Text book DJ stuff. Perfect application of ****y & funny on her. She is eating it up. Laughs at all my jokes (even the questionably funny ones). At school I always catch her looking at me, then she looks down or away when I catch her. I am the only guy at school she really talks to (therefore I assumed that she wasn't an attention wh o r e). Her best friend came up to me and was inquiring if I was single. I said to her "Did Jen send you to find out?" (with a big grin on my face) Her friend says "OMG, don't mention to her that I talked to you.. she'll kill me!" Then her friend starts laying hints that I should ask Jen out.
Later that day I run into Jen. I say "Me and my friends are going to Club ____ on friday, you should join us. It'll be fun." She enthusiatically agrees. In my mind all is going well.
Friday: I see her at the club with her friend. Jen says hello with mild enthusiasm. Then immediately begins flirting with my friends. And I mean flirting. Big time. Embarassing-for-me-type-flirting. I am usually not the jelous type but this was over the top. She ignored me most of the night, and then began flirting with other guys near by (because my friends, being good friends, were not reciprocating her childish behaviour). At the end of the night I leave the club without saying good bye to her.
Monday: I sit on the opposite side of the lecture hall, and avoid eye contact. At the end of the day Jen's friend comes up to my and asks "Why didn't you call Jen over the weekend? Are you not attracted to her? What's the problem? She really wants to hear from you." I say "You've gotta be kidding me, she was all over every guy in the room... except me." Her friend says "oh... that. She just gets shy around you and doesn't know how to act."
----------------
Don't worry, I don't have oneitis or anything. This girl is now on my permant NEXT list. I don't need people in my life who play childish games. It's just that this situation just confused the hell out of me.
Here is what I would like to know:
-did she serious think that acting like this is going to make me try to win her over? To me it was a MAJOR turn off to watch her all over other guys.
-is this an isolated incident or do you guys ever encouter this? This was a first for me.
-female members of sosuave what do you think. Wyldfire, I read in one of your posts, that girls often ignore the guy that they are interested in and flirt with other guys. My question is, why? It seems counter productive to me.
