Shaving etiquitte

This is a kind-of embarrassing question to ask, but i was wondering what everybody thinks about shaving the body, chest, legs, other spots, etc. I have been unsure of if i should completely shave my body or not, but don't want to make a big mistake. I was wondering if anyone could offer me advice/ their opinions on the subject.
