"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Whould like more info on the many pets
It's funny because this is the type of little random disqualifier that you hear about chicks using for guys, that seems random and weird, but sometimes have a point (though women tend to have far more and even stranger ones).

I had this "rule" before I even read the post, so I will give you my take on it. In the last year, I have had 3 or so dates with chicks who had an inordinate amount of pets, specifically cats. 1 or 2 cats I don't mind, but each of these girls had like 3 or 4 cats, one I think had 5.

All 3 of them were among the weirder, more emotionally needy women I've dated. Two of them seemed to live their lives in chaos, there was always drama going on of various types. The third girl had her act together fairly well in terms of being a hard working girl, going to college, owning a home, etc- but was the most bipolar of any women I have dated(probably not clinically), but would constantly flip-flop between everything being fine between us, to her accusing me playing games, or just going off without reason.

I made the connection on my own at some point-girls with a lot of cats are weird :) And the few people I have know throughout my life who have own a large amount of animals were also a little "off."

I've never heard anyone say this (minus the crazy cat lady joke), so I laughed when I read it in the post here. I will sometimes teasingly ask a girl "How many cats do you have?" when we are getting to know each other, and explain the joke.

As far as why this has been consistent in my experience, I couldn't tell ya. Maybe these girls feel the need to add permanent social contact to their lives with animals they can control and can't leave them? It satisfies some emotional insecurity? All speculation. But I have noticed a pattern.

Blaaah blaaah, so how do you get a date with an attractive girl then? Lets at least have help on that part before philosophising over how dates go bad or good.
I tend to agree with you. I appreciate that this board has some deep thinking individuals, but I tend to get less from extremely vague and philosophical posts. I realize this site is about improving your quality of life as a whole, but at the moment I am looking for practical advice on a smaller scale, than I am looking for life strategies. This post is somewhere in the middle though, there is some practical advice here.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
