I took my girlfriend to see it, and it actually was not that bad. Movies are pretty awful these days, but this one was tolerable. I hate chick flicks, too. I have seen maybe three or four episodes of the show, always with whatever girl I was with at the time. I don't know a woman who didn't like that show.

This is a LTR tip, but if your girl has not seen it with her friends and she is a fan of the show, you score big points by taking her to see it. She gets something tangible to brag to her friends and coworkers about how great you are. Obviously, something like this is a reward, not a bribe, so it is for when things are going well.

I caught a little of the symbolism in the movie; things like that are what make me like any movie - at least someone put some thought into it. Right before the wedding debacle, the 'Big' guy is going the wrong way on a one-way street and just after that Carrie beats her bridal bouquet to pieces over his head and both cars drive over it.

I didn't find the movie to be anti-male, either. Two of the four women spend most of the movie fvcking up their relationships by being self-centered b!tches, and they spend the course of the movie figuring that out. Both genders are portrayed as human and equally flawed.

This movie was not the torturous man-bashing feminist slvt parade that I thought it would be.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

This movie portrays breakups very realisticly in a blunt and honest fashion.

It is pretty honest. I digged that. Besides that, I was embarrassed to be seen in that theater!

I haven't seen the movie but I have seen the tv series. (IMO) One of the most relevant tv shows for the current seducer to understand today's woman. Not only for the fact that it is art imitating life but also because it is held with such high esteem amongst women that it also leads to life imitating art.

I get points by just being in the room so I still see no point.

I would rather poke matches in my sh!t than sit through that, personally I think it's just yet another entity that chips away at a mans soul.

But I'm one of the only guy's I know who doesnt laugh at an 8 year old getting smashed in the balls on "funniest home video" so maybe I'm alone here.

I watched some episodes in female company, but I found some of the quotes so interesting that I just had to jot them down. Here are some:

---------------------------------------------
The gay straight man was a new strain of heterosexual man spawned in Manhattan as the result of overexposure to fashion, exotic cuisine, musical theater and antique furniture.
------------------------------
Samantha to Carrie: Relationships have been on the decline since women got out of the cave, looked around and said: this isn't so hard!

blabla

Carrie to Samantha: I can't decide if you're our future or our demise.
--------------------------------
*****:I'll have another glass of wine.
Guy:please.
B:please what?
G:I'll have another glass of wine please.
Are you allowed to talk to me like that?
Yeah. I think I am.
Look, I'm not a total *****, ok? I just had a fight with somebody.
Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Butcher?
*smiles*
----------------------------------
Oh and get this one:
On Saturday nights, every restaurant in lower Manhattan resembles its own little Ellis Island: Hordes of single women crowding into a hot, cramped space hoping to make it to their final destination: the State of Matrimony. Or at least to get a hot meal and transit.
---------------------------------------
-Sean, I dont think this is going to work.
-You can smell my desperation, right?
Kill that Desperation!
