Coinbase is in an outage for a fix they are testing or somthing.

High demand, most likely.

Coinbase is ok for now. But I wouldn't consider it for long term. It's basically like a bank or paypal... Either way, you're handing your money over to strangers.

Don't store all your bitcoin on the coinbase wallet, because they control it.

Bitcoin looks high here, but you still want to buy some. Speculate first with Bitcoin then hyper-speculate with the alt-coins if you so desire.
