"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

I've pretty much already made up my mind, but I thought that I'd ask for some opinions on this site, since I'm practicing being more open minded, and hearing things from a different angle can never hurt.

I have a friend, who I've known since 10th grade (I'm in 12th now), and he's been a pretty decent guy all-around. We've spent a good amount of time chilling and that kind of stuff. Thing is, I can't remember the last time that I was in public with him around (school, mall, subway, or whatever) that he didn't either say or do something retarded, which he also does quite noticably (either by saying it very loudly so that the entire caf, subway car or food court can hear him, or by doing something so stupid that the entire room notices). As such, it's getting harder and harder to forgive him for this crap, because it's really killing any chance I have of making new friends, which I'm also trying to do.

I'm sure that it makes sense to you guys that it's damn near impossible to build up any sort of social proof whatsoever when you're being followed by a guy that does something totally retarded every time you're around people that you're trying to impress. My question is as follows:

Should I just ditch him? I don't want to, as he's been a good friend in all other aspects of the word, but I just can't seem to grow or make any improvements when he's around, because of his ass hat behaviour.

Oh, by the way, I'd really appreciate it if people could keep the "Figure things out for yourself, and not post all of your problems on this forum!" responses to a minimum (i.e. none) because this is the first topic I've ever posted, and because I've pretty much made up my mind anyway, and I'm just looking for other views.

Thanks for your time everyone.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

If you are a good friend, you will support him by telling him what he is doing, and that if he doesn't stop acting like an idiot, then you are going to stop hanging out with him. Make sure you can support your claims with specific references.
