I just got back my SAT Score and it was 1130 for Math and Writing (1550 total with essay)... I really don't now what it means so can someone tell me? does it mean I'm stupid and will end up homeless? I'm so worried that I'm freaking OUT right now, all my friends got scores between 1700-2100 and I feel like a retard! I'm def gonna retake it, anyone got suggestions on how I should prep so I can get a score close to 2000? Also should I take the ACT I heard it was easier.

I have no idea. When I took SATs the max score was 1600. And I still got a higher score than you.
definately retake it. youre math + writing score are actually above average, about the 60th percentile id guess. you just ****ed up on your essay. read a book on how to do the essay or something, focus on that part, retake and you should be fine.

Bottom line, SAT score don't really matter as long as they're good enough to get you into college. They're just another b.ull**** standardized test for schools to say, "oooh look at how good we are at teaching" or "oh s.hit! We're not doing our jobs, lets fire a bunch of people". Besides, they only measure your reading/writing and math. Wow, like thats all there is to life. Whatever happened to science, history, geography, etc?
I totally bombed mine and got a 1400 (lower than you), and that was on the new test. And guess what? I graduated from high school with honors, and then placed extremely high in my college placement tests. I don't wanna sound like I'm bragging, but I consider myself to be pretty damn intelligent, particularly for my age. Hell, I graduated early. My advice, don't look too much into it.
You wanna know how I studied for it? I didnt. Unless you're trying to get into Harvard, I wouldn't waste my time. I had better things to do, like play video games, go to the mall, play basketball, flirt, etc. Just go to a community college. They let everybody in, its easier, and cheaper.

Probably a state school cuz I get a free-tuition scholarship cuz of perfect score in MCASS. I'm thinking of UMass Amherst, Dartmouth or Lowell. I was thinking of goin to a business school (Babson, Bently or Bryant) but with 3.0 GPA, 1120 SAT and no money it probably won't happen. Where do you go to school now?ValleyDJing said:

Ah...I don't know about you then. I just went to a community college. I knew I couldnt afford a four year university, so I kinda just said, "**** it. You could be mentally retarded and get into a junior college, why the hell should I worry about SAT's?" Also, a lot of schools look at your ACT. Make sure you figure out which one your target college looks at. Some look for just one, some look for both.

GPA was a 2.7 (in a school where 3.2 was the average) when I was applying. I got it up to 3.0 at the end of the year, but it didn't matter by then, already had my acceptances.Skilla_Staz said:
