RLE: how insecure women are, the hamster keeps spinning

I found the need to post this.

I usually joke around with my Gf saying "oh hey babe let's break up " or (if she ever denies me sex, doesn't really happen and I joke around when she's on her period) "it's okay I'll just find a new girl for a week!" All are said in a playful, non serious manner.

Last night she texted me "babe I don't like it when you say you're going to cheat/break up with me. It gets me thinking as to why he would even think of that or is this relationship to good to be true? Could you lay off on that please ".

This statement and the fact she couples this with showering me with compliments, means she knows I look good and can have any girl I want. And she does NOT want to lose me. And the fact that she's thinking about it makes her feel insecure about herself , "am I good enough for
Him?" Etc. she knows she barley has me, and I know hat I'll drop her in a minute if she does anything I don't like. She knows this to, and it is confirmed.

I found this quite interesting because I never knew what making her hamster wheel spin meant until last night.

her being annoyed doesn't mean she knows you look good or that you can have anyone. it means that you're being a douche and if you keep it up she might one day get fed up of it and start seeing someone else. if she isn't already.

if i were your boss and i jokingly told you i was going to fire you or hire a new employee for the week on a regular basis i'm pretty sure your hamster would be spinning too. keep it up and i might find myself on the end of a work tribunal.

hamster spinning is best used sparingly as a weapon when trying to attract, not to be used at will in a relationship where it's more likely to repel.

It's all just a bit of fun, banter if you will but at the same time keeps your girl on her toes.

They say a healthy relationship is 50/51 in terms of power with the man slightly more powerful. I think that's BS. Guys who come here have usually been fvcked over by a woman who clearly had the power scale tipped heavily in their favor.

And what does the Guy do in hopes of getting her back if they were to break up? Calls her 1,000 times, writes love letters, buys presents.

But what happens if the power scale is tipped the other way? Heavily in the Man's favor.

You are creating that power. What your doing is creating insecurity with these remarks, keeping her on her toes, making her have to worry:

"Am I behaving well enough for him"
" Am I really good enough" she thinks

And her behavior stays superb as a result, she knows you'll have no problem replacing her, so she complies and probably generally is a good gf.

Women like this usually don't cheat & if you balance it with the right amount if attention you're gravy.

And I fully agree with this.

Competitive anxiety is the key to a long relationship.

If a woman is aware of her possible replacement, she will do her best to be seen as the best option.

But be wary, because to much of this can cause an unhealthy Overly dependent woman. The type of chick that stays with a man who beats her. And no Guy wants a chick like that.

Moderation.

That being said, if she had said that to me though i would've replied:

"Relax, you should be able to take a joke & know I'm only kidding. You know I'm not like that."

P.S: The Guy who said "hamster spinning should be used when trying to attract, not in a relationship" is wrong

I agree except for one thing. It isn't working. She still denies him sex on occasion.

There has got to be a better way.

For the record we have a healthy relationship and no one is trying to "win" anyone back. I am a playful guy, I like to joke around. It just so happens this occurred and wanted to share it with like minded people. I suppose this site has shifted towards another direction than it used to be... Sad.

100% agree with Mauser on this one.

The mind fvcking and manipulation is childish at best, and ultimately unhealthy for your relationship. There seems to be a disconnect between you an her, in which you feel the need to mind fvck her once in a while to retain her interest. You wouldn't need to do this if you guys were on the same wavelength.

My ex was pretty much all over me at all times, telling me how she loved me and wanted to marry me. I never had to resort to that.

OP, this is a d!ck move and unnecessary in a LTR in which the DJ sets the frame.

It's something you would associate with immature bravado.

I used to do this with my plates and they would make the same complaint as your gf.

In retrospects it's embarrassing.

Trying to use the "I could cheat on you if you fall out of line" card, even as a "joke" just makes you look weak.

A man who has options doesn't need to broadcast to the world that he has options.

It should be self evident.

So what you're saying is I can't have any fun? Well that's no fun!

But I get what you're saying, thanks. How does it make you look weak though? Because it makes you seem like you can't hold onto her without saying such things/ vocalizing that I could cheat on her? If that's the case then that doesn't fit for my scenario.
