Reputation Points [Merged thread]

I understand what the word reputation means, and I'm "off the scale".
How do we adjust other people's rep, and how does it work. (The FAQ had nothing :\)

To adjust, you either approve, or disapprove of their reputation in a certain thread.

Look at me, I am the only person set at an unknown quantity I checked the reputation listings, right above the people who have their set at disabled.

You begin your path on a distinguished road first. The rest to me is just a surpirse yet to come...

lol, I wonder if I can only go up from here, or if there are more horrors to behold below an unknown quantity...

ps: Thanks for the Reputation + , only took me 5 minutes to find the post that had it. That's my new question, how can I see what posts got the Rep!

What's with the reputations system?

Everyone is either "off the scale", "on a distinquished road" or "an unknown quantity".

Are there anymore levels than this? These aren't very helpful and there needs to be an explanation of what different levels there are and what they mean.

PS, how do people get their reputation disabled? I want that, either that, or I want it red to show how much people dislike me, so I can troll in peace...

PS delete my post count or knock it down to how many actually remain on the board... ie 500 remaining

to read the rep you look at the green square under the name.
to report a bad post you click on the triangle with a ! in it.
to add good or bad to a persons rep meter, you click on the silver thingie beside the triangle with a ! in it.

1. can you blame a brother for trying? if you dont want to , just ignore his pm.
2. you cant get it disabled
3. you cant delete your post count either.

Reputation is not useless. If a good amount of people use reputation properly, it works. If you bring down an idiot, but raise a great post, it helps to create the balance. Going into the Member List, and clicking the "Reputation" header will show you the top reputation earners.

Over time, if everyone starts and keeps using it properly, it can show someone that knows what they talk about.

What we really need is the number to show.

Those were the three most adept trolls in the business. They had more interesting stories on this site. The stories were made up, but those are moot points.

They are experts because they didn't cause hardship to members, they gave amusing advice that an advanced DJ could actually use, and they don't make arguments they make amusing comments.
