Master Don Juan
If we look at history, the way we experience relationships has changed profoundly.
Over time, marriage has shifted from an economic and familial obligation to a choice rooted in love and individual freedom. Yet, the fundamental needs within a relationship remain the same: attraction, stability, security, respect, care, and a sense of deep connection.
(While the way we experience relationships may have evolved, we still desire the same things we always have.)
We have learned to talk a great deal about freedom, rights, expectations, desires, and independence, but far less about what is concretely required to be together. Not everything traditional is necessarily right, just as not everything modern is necessarily an improvement. The forms that relationships take may change, but each of us longs to be chosen, desired, respected, and valued.
(Have you ever experienced a level of attraction from a woman that made you feel this way?)
Therefore, a man’s true evolution and growth do not lie in denying these needs to appear "modern," but in experiencing them without letting them devolve into dependency, possessiveness, imposition, manipulation, or calculated tactics. A positive relationship is a mutual choice made by two people who, even though they could live independently, still find genuine value in choosing each other every single day and sharing their lives.
Am I being naive for saying this, even after realizing that there are, in fact, "triggers", as a man, I can activate to spark attraction in women; elements a man can leverage to draw women in on a primal, "reptilian" level?
And yet, for me, the greatest satisfaction has always come from seeing a woman respect me and reciprocate those feelings. Yes, sex is great, it’s like a drug, but when you have a woman who truly "gives" themselves to you with respect and genuinely considers you, that is the goal as man we must pursue.
