"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

First off, I am, what most people would probably consider, highly emotional when it comes to love. I have virutally no interest in sex, I fall in love easily, and so on. Also, I am 16 years old.

On to the girl. She's 15. I met her about two years ago at Church and I fell in love with her the minute I first saw her. I was a moron back then but I don't think she remembers. I haven't had a crush on her the whole two years, I'll move on to another girl for a while and then, for example, I'll almost literally run into her at a Church dinner on the way to the garbage can. I haven't really talked to her much, but when I do talk to her she seems very friendly. I've met a couple of her friends on myspace (she didn't introduce, her best friend added me and I added her other best friend). From what I know about her, she seems to share my values and beliefs, to at least a reasonable extent. Like myself, she's never been on a date (to the question "Single or group dates?" in her survey thing, she answered "single - even though I've never been on one", so I don't know if this means she's never been on a date period or just a single date). She's stunningly beautiful, especially in person. I may be the only one to see her the way I do, but I think she's more beautiful than even someone like Miwa Oshiro or Ayumi Kinosh!ta (bad comparison though since she's Polish :p).

After finding this site, I know what I have to do at this point and am going to make my move very soon. So on to the problem...

She's an actress. She's in a lot of school plays. And now I find out through a bulletin that she's going to be in Grease, as Sandy - the main female character. I want to be happy for her, but somehow I'm not. I'm depressed about it. Think of all the implications. First of all, some guy's going to be all over her. I know it's just acting, but I can't bear the thought. And now I'm completely doubting everything. The girls of my dreams has always been a girl who's never been kissed (at least if she's going to be my first kiss anyway). Allison likely never has - unless it was in a musical, in which case it would've meant nothing. Not only would I have lost her first kiss, but I would've lost it to essentially nothing. And what if this turns into something serious, and, simultaneously, so does her acting? I really don't think I want a wife with such a committing career - she's supposed to be committed to me. And on top of that, she'd be in a position of great risk (among other things), and me, the man, who's supposed to be dominant, has relatively none compared to her. But at the same time, I wouldn't want to keep her from her dream even if she'd let me. So now my brain is completely doing bad **** to me. Can anyone give me a hand with this?

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Dude, she's 15. School plays aren't exactly a "serious acting career". Treat her like any normal girl.

I've dated career (but domestic) actresses before, and they're a totally different issue.

That is definitely true. I went through a time in my life when all I wanted was to be an actor as well. My dad held me back (which I'm grateful for now), and I was too much of a wussy to do anytyhing with this aspiration, but if that's all it is with Allison and she just took it further, she'll outgrow it sooner or later. But there's still the issue of other actors being all over my prize...
