"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Let me tell you a story, it's about a girl that changed me and as you can already guess, she rejected me.

It all happened back in my AFC days. I developed oneitis for a girl, I became needy and clingy to what she reacted by being more distant. She kept pushing me away but my stupid AFC mind just thought that if I could show her how much I like her she would like me back. So of course I bought her a big gingerbread heart. Told her that I like her. (I cringe so much when writing this) Of course her reaction to that was that she just likes me as a friend and doesn't want to give me false hope. And wait, it get's worse, she was and still is my classmate, so yeah the whole class knew about it two days after that.

Though one sentence she said struck me, she said "Go to [name of a club], I don't believe that you won't pick a girl there." And guess what I went there three weeks after the rejection. I was still feeling a bit down because of her but I got drunk with my friends, went dancing and after a while I was making out with a girl. A hotter girl than the one that rejected me!

This has all changed my thinking and started a series of me picking up girls one after another. About two months after the rejection I found this site and improved myself greatly.

I got over the girl quite fast, BUT THE REJECTION WAS THE BEST THING THAT COULD'VE HAPPENED TO ME! It made my life so much better, so if you got rejected, dumped or divorced recently don't feel bad about it. It's the best thing that could've happened to you. It opened you the world of new great possibilities.

If she had accepted me back then (I know, ipossible but hypothetically) I would still be that insecure, naive, lazy, good for nothing person I was. THE REJECTION CHANGED ME FOR THE BETTER and the girl wasn't even that good. I've had a lot of better looking girls after that. I began self improving, working out, got more confident, I'm more talkative, confident, ATTRACTIVE. Seriously the best thing that could've happened to me. :cheer:

Think of the girl as a cancer that got cut off. Would you feel bad if you had cancer and it got cut off and now you are healthy and free? NO! So why feel bad about a rejection? It definitely was a gread learning experience but it's time to move on and try new things.

DON'T FORGET, THE BEST THING THAT COULD'VE HAPPENED TO YOU!!!

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

very true...despite being the most painful and difficult to get over moment in my life, my wife cheating on me with another man and leaving me for him made me a much stronger person and made me pretty much invincible of ever getting hurt by a woman again...and met a much better woman since then and of course many many plates
