Stay at home mother with a husband that loves and provides. Divorces him just because “she can,” gets the house and child. Then gets shocked he marries a younger, prettier woman. She had a great situation where she didn't need to work a soul killing job and got to spend her days with her child. This was what women were designed to do.
She asked him to do too much around the house. As a stay-at-mom home, she has to do the indoor household labor. She can't be expected to do a lot of landscaping or other heavy labor work, but she can be expected to cook, clean, grocery shop, etc. She did not know her role well enough.
It's not surprising that she gained 20 lbs due to the stress of working full time and raising a child. There's less time to cook proper and healthy meals and less time to exercise that way.
She could not have anticipated that her husband would have re-married. Her husband did sound like a dutiful beta, so his marriage #2 is likely beta bucks. He might have had enough career success to maximize himself as a beta bucks.
