I had it a bit noticeably at 17, but I guess it started a few years before that. What the hell is going on? I'm going bald at 18??? No one in my family history is bald except my mother's uncle, and she says that it's because his mother put kerosene in his hair for lice or something. What's going on? And how can I get my hair back?

It's genetic. Not much you can do about it.

I have a friend that takes cold showers and uses organic shampoos with aloe. He swears by it.

ok seriously, awfully its not so simple your genes are not that short that show themselves only in a short time span maybe the father of your grandfather was bald.

Anyway try to evaluate all the possible reasons from stress to a bad diet to some chemical that happen yo be in your environment.

I swim a lot and bleached then shaved my hair 4 times back in high school. Maybe the chlorine was slowly killing my hair from swimming? Maybe the bleach too. Honestly, it didn't start to happen until one single day where I took 3 showers in a span of about 6 or 7 hours and used a lot of conditioner. Then I noticed that my head got really itchy and some hairs fell out. Ever since then, it gets itchy and hairs fall out if I scratch it. But it was just that one single day that did it, which doesn't make sense.

I would just shave my head. You can't control it. So you have to accept it. You might try one of the prescription treatments.

I have a receding hairline too. I keep my head nearly shaved as it is, but I'm about to start going all the way. It's never bothered me. Rogaine is a waste of brainpower IMO, all hair does is get in my way.
