Marc Rehmar, 58, was charged with endangering public transportation and hindering transportation, according to a news release Wednesday from District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

Rehmar is accused of pushing open a secure emergency exit on a concourse on Aug. 6 and running onto the ramp area to try to stop a plane that was being pushed back from the gate, the release said.

Authorities have not actually said what motivated Rehmar, but presumably it involved making "a huge mistake" regarding someone who he'd "loved since the moment [he] first set eyes on [her]." He's scheduled to appear in court on Friday, possibly in the company of an exasperated but understanding best friend portrayed by Luis Guzmán.
