"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Whats up Don Juans!

My ex and I stopped seeing each other about 10 months ago. Ended on good terms, we still talk and text on occasion. We had talked a few days earlier, just caught up after not talking for 2 weeks or so.

A couple days later, I get a random text from her.

Her - "How old are you again?"
Me - "Im 33, why do you ask? Are you gonna buy me a bday present?"
Her - "Just figuring out what our age difference was, I forgot"
Me - "Almost 5 yrs" She's 38
Her - "I guess I was a cougar, lol"

What the hell was this all about? Seems random and kinda like she was thinking about our relationship and why it went wrong?? Any thoughts here gentlemen??

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

This dialogue makes me think of a lame cartoon you'd find in the funnies section of a newspaper.

Maybe mention how long your relationship was because it sounds like it was no longer than a night...When you banged her did she hit her head against the wall a little too hard and get amnesia...maybe thats why she forgot.

It is pretty lame that we were together over 18 months and she can't remember how old I am! Sounds to me like she o-pining about the relationship. She went on talking about how we were at different stages of our lives. Our age difference had no bearing in my mind. I think becauses she's 38 and getting to the point where she should have been married and had kids already, she's wondering why she hasn't gotten there yet.
