Radcliffe lost virginity to 'older woman'

It seems Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe left his childhood innocence behind long before he graduated from Hogwarts.

The 19-year-old actor has confessed to losing his virginity at the age of 16 — to a much older woman.

In an otherwise candid interview with US magazine Details, Radcliffe refused to name names or reveal the exact age of the woman he first made love to.

He insisted the age difference "wasn't ridiculous" but did admit it "would freak some people out".

Radcliffe also confessed to harbouring a secret desire to play the role of a drag queen.

"I think part of me would love to play a drag queen," he said.

"Just because it would be an excuse to wear loads of eye make-up."

Radcliffe was speaking ahead of the start of the production Equus on Broadway, in which Radcliffe appears with full-frontal nudity.

After spending eight years playing Harry Potter, the successful play helped Radcliffe cast off his boy wizard shackles.

Meanwhile, Radcliffe's sex confession has fuelled speculation in US media about who the mystery woman could be.

Quoting unnamed sources, Us Weekly magazine has named Radcliffe's first sex partner as Amy Byrne, an assistant hairdresser who was 23 when they met on the set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005.

BTW I don't know the specific laws in the UK, but if he was 16, isn't this technically illegal? What's with the double standard, a man in his 20's having sex with a 16 year old girl can get into life ruining trouble.

Alright can somebody explain the age of consent laws to me?

I was under the impression that unless you're both under 18 (or the person above 18 is only a bit older than the underage partner, then having sex would be 'statutory rape'.

But if the age of consent is 16, you're telling me no matter how old a guy is, he can legally **** a 16 year old if she's consenting and he's not in a position of power over her?

Hell according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Age_of_Consent.png half of Europe uses 13 as the age.. No way my interpretation is right.
