Question:

So I have asked this girl to formal, and she accepted. My question is for an event such as a formal, would a DJ go about acting like a gentleman by,

Buying dinner?

Buying a corsage, or sending flowers?

Pushing in chairs, opening doors, etc?

Now I am not an ass kisser, doormat, nor wuss and would not do this on a date or a casual get together for coffee or something, but does the situation/event change how I should act? My concern is that if I do buy dinner, flowers, etc that I will come across as an ass kisser, but if I dont then maybe I come off as an ignorant, etiquette clueless, cheapskate.

Suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Special occasions call for special treatment. Make her feel special.

You should get corsage because she will probably get a boutonier

you could send flowers if you want

for all the door opening, chair pulling, car door opening stuff like that, i would suggest doing it, since this is more like a formal event and formal events call for more formal(gentlemen measures).

if she offers to pay for her half of food then just give a "you sure?" and let her pay if she insists.

if you don't want to come across as an AFC, then skip the flowers, it's a one night thing, not a giftgiving day. let the actions come and die with the night.
