I'm sitting here today at home, watching the chargers versus the steelers playoff game. I have come to a conclusion, that I do not like professional football. this is pretty damn boring. I've felt like this for a while now. I'm a self proclaimed cowboys game but I can't even sit down and watch a full cowboy's game.
I'm not even a full college football game, but I'll watch certain teams, like watching Ohio state go up agaginst a team I know they are going to get whipped, or an arknasas game. but other wise, no matter how hyped or spectcular the game is supposed to be, I find myself on the internet, or flipping channels.

But, I still keep watching. It's like some part of me feels obligated to watch football.

I don't like basketball and I won't watch basketball. I won't even let you talk about baseball. But football, like right now, my Gf bought me the entire series of the west wing, and I have been getting really into them, and I would much rather watch that right now, than wach this damn game, but i feel like.. my manhood is being challenged or something if i dont' watch the game.

am I crazy?

I'm the same. When I do decide I can watch football, it has to be college, I can't stand NFL in comparison!! Maybe it's cause I never played football in highschool or middle school. I'm thinking of starting to play flag football.

I know what you mean, I find watching sports boring as **** 95% of the time. Baseball is by far the worst, but I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched an entire sports game on tv.

The only exceptions for me are international competitions. For example I'll watch Olympic competitions, World Cup, Junior hockey championships, etc, but that's about it.

Does it make me less manly? I don't think so, and I really don't give a damn about anybody that would think so.

How pathetic is it do define your masculinity from watching some people you don't even know play some game?

Screw the stereotyping, I hate watching sports, don't like fishing, think muscle cars are ****ty excuses for a car, and absolutely hate pickup trucks. I'm still more than manly enough, and that comes from much more important areas of my life.

I'am pretty sure people don't watch every quarter or inning. I rather be playing one of those sports than watching it. I never did get any of the hardcore fans at the games or even people having team stickers on their cars. If you rather watch the west wing knock yourself out.

I could've wrote what you said verbatim. I don't like the traditional sports, but I can really get into the Olympics and World Cup. I also like the UFC. Because I study martial arts myself, I think I just have a greater appreciation for the intricacies and strategies of fighting sports than I do for other types of sports. Maybe if I grew up playing baseball on a team, I'd feel the same way about baseball.

I tried for years to get myself into sports mainly out of peer pressure. I felt I just needed to know about it when my dad talked about it or my friends. So I forced myself to watch games, but it was usually short lived. I got bored and it was just hard to hide the fact that I was simply uninterested. I think some people just don't have the sports gene and that's that. If I watch sports, I feel like I have to have something at stake, like money, or national pride(in the case of the Olympics), or it has to be a sport of personal interest to me because I practice it, like cycling or martial arts. I just don't understand how someone can get all riled up over a team in a city they have never visited on the other side of the country. I understand the pride of loving your hometeam, but why have loyalty to a team from a different part of the country? I never understood that.

I always thought there's nothing worse than a guy who pretends to like a sport.

Hockey and MMA/K-1/Max are the only sports i can watch fully. Anything else and my mind wanders.

The best time at a bar was during UFC 90. UFC on the big screen to the left and the hockey game was to the right. The Canucks scored a goal at the same time Werdum got KO'd so i missed it. Had to watch the replay.
