You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
I have no intention of getting married. I'm not at all religious, so that angle isn't appropriate. I don't believe you need a legal document to have a good relationship - surely it can only make you lazy?sixersfan said:Btw quick question have any of you guys thought 'screw this I don't want to get married or have kids I just want to sleep around for the rest of my life.' Has anyone done this? Any regrets? I'm seriously contemplating this.
The overwhelming depth of this post is mind-numbing.Zarky said:yeah here's my tip: Don't get married. Ever.
Disregard it at your own peril.

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
I do want to offer some, what is the word I am looking for.. some perspective here. Not all women are gold digging *****s who are going to cheat on you lol. My dad, has been divorced what, 3 times, seems to be working on a 4th as we speak, and besides raising his kids, has not come out of a dime in any of them, outside having to get himself a new place. And to boot, all of them were because he couldn't keep his **** in his pants. If anyone deserved to be taken to the cleaners it was him. His women had more morals than he did.sixersfan said:Btw last week I was on the bus and overheard two guys in front of me. "I'm currently divorcing my wife.'' The other guy said 'Oh really I've just finished with my 2nd wife' **** this I thought! So I though it's best I seek the wisdom of some of you older guys who have been there and done that.
So, I'm reading this now and I have a question for you guys who have been married and are now divorce.LeftyLoosey said:If you're committed to marrying this girl, at least read this, one of Roissy's greatest articles ever.
Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.
Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers. Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.
I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.
Not at all and it never has sounded appealing to me. Even more, I've always fought against the idea of marriage as well when learning about beta and alpha males.BobMo' said:"Where you betas in your old relationship? Is that what caused them to go downhill?"
Married men stay married by suppressing their natural urges. Does that sound appealing to you?
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.
She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.
Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.
Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
