Question about cocaine mortality rates...

Just a quick question, I'm doing a research paper on cocaine. I know cocaine can be fatal if overdosed on during the high, but do fatalities result from cocaine use within 1-2 days following usage?

Generally, no. Coke OD deaths are from cardiac arrest, but a cokehead is more prone to have heart attacks any time than the average person, as was the case with college basketball star Len Bias in 1986.

Most coke ODs come from people who get a much stronger cut than they expected, people who don't use very often, or people who are mixing it with other drugs, especially heroin. Junkies and hard users have built up such a tolerance that it is difficult for them to die by overdose.
