PUA material is useless?

The blog post mentioned in the OP is entirely wrong.
First point: PU is a business.
Not if you don't make it so. You don't have to spend a dime on learning PU theory. My total expenditure has been about $10 for a used body-language book. That's it, and I've been reading and listening to PU stuff since 1997.
Second point: Forget learning how to get women through technique, if you're successful you will automatically get women.

He's right. The only important thing you can learn from all this bull**** is to not let yourself be controlled or manipulated, not be clingy, not be a doormat, reject social norms about how to treat women, and generally to act like a guy and not a girl.
The canned lines, the ****y + funny, the underemphasis of appearance, the overemphasis of "game", the heavy analyzation of meaningless phone calls/texts/conversations, it's all stupid and silly and makes it appear like meeting women is some kind of complex obstacle where you can **** up any point and destroy any possible chances of getting laid. It's not hard to meet women, as long as the girl digs you, which she will if she thinks you're cute and cool, all you have to do is do you.
Although I was never really a part of the whole PUA community, it's obviously a fvcking business to anyone with a set of eyeballs. The consumer base are ugly guys, guys with no style, weirdos, losers, etc, who are told that they can be fvcking beautiful women left and right if they just do "****y + funny" or gain some self confidence. It's created a slew of socially awkward try-hards who make weird comments all the time and scare girls away. The thing is, if you're an ugly weirdo, you're not going to get laid, and all this is just gonna make you look like an even bigger freak to women.
The basic rules of attraction are obvious and apply to women too, don't be clingy, don't show excessive interest, etc. Other than that you need to look good, you need to have style, and you need to be cool. Get out and party, be a social person, and just let that **** come naturally.
Women are horny and women love sex. They're not allowed to act like it in public because it's not socially acceptable, and rightfully so, but that doesn't mean they aren't just as horny as us. Im glad we have guys who expect women to behave like chastity belt wearing mormons though, because it allows the rest of us to bang their girlfriends behind their backs.

PUA is good for developing social skills and developing a mindset/attitude. The two should develop at the same rate (I guess it wouldn't be bad for the mindset to develop faster, but that wouldn't happen). Once you have the right mindset, it's good for new ideas (manoeuvres and lines, etc from blogs like roissy and assanova) which probably would have failed if they weren't congruent with my internal beliefs.
99% of routines, opinion openers, peacocking ideas, etc are crap. They don't contribute to social skills, they don't contribute to any sort of mindset, and all they do is create opportunities for failure during any given interaction

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
