Psychic Reading C-Bloked

I was talking to a girl and her friend came over. her friend asked do you guys want a reading. We both thought it was weird, but she said yea. The friend told the girl that she always gets hurt by trying to help and that she is a fixer.

OK that is pretty much every girl. At least they would want to believe that.

So when it came around to my turn I was thinking she was going to say some general crap about guys...blah blah...

Here is what she said: "You wear a Mask. You don't let people in and you are protecting your emotions."

DAMN! Her!

The girl shot me a look and after that the mood changed. I instantly put it back on her and tried to figure a way to spin it, but I couldn't just call her a quack 'cause it was her friend. Now I thought it was no big deal after talking for a while and than she brought it up. She asked "you were a Mask"?

I was at a loss for words I thought OK be funny .. na... than I did I went for funny! Stupid me. She started professing her upfrontness and how she is a What you see is what you get person and that was it. She looked at her watch....DOOM!

Damn Psycho.. I mean Psychic friend. I got CBlocked by Psychic Reading.

I really don't think this will ever happen again, but what should I have done?

It was so weird it caught me off guard.

It's not what her friend said (which again would apply to most guys/people) but how you reacted.

Once she saw that the bullshyt psychic reading had rattled you, she saw her chance for a shyt-test and you failed.

Forget what she said, if she wanted to f*ck you she wouldn't have minded if you were a 'mask' a 'wind-stealer' or a 'serial killer,' chicks figure they can change all that.

Your authority was shot. You allowed this girl and her friend to control the frame. You should have done your own psychic reading back 'ah, I'm getting that you two are a pair of gullible sillies who mistake broad generalisations for trenchant insight' or 'Well I need a mask as Batman, oops me and my big mouth...' or 'I have an invisible pixie on my shoulder who can magically predict your weight and bra-size, wanna play?'

Anything but get defensive and act like 'the game' was up. Sorry but you c-blocked yourself.

I DID fail! I mean how the hell could you see something like that coming.?

If she said something like she told her friend it would have been no problem, but this chick instantly made me out to be fake. I wanted to slap the crazy out her head, OF course I wouldn't!@!! But thought about it.

I like the pixie thing minus the weight and She is a B cup. Which I think she may even be a little self conscious about... but if I used that against so called psychic...
