Protein powders and water retention

Do you happen to notice any increse of under skin water retention while consuming protein powders?

I found out that I was getting heavier and less shreddeg in the last month but couldnt understand the reason, then for some reasons beyond my control I passed few days without my proteins (I get whey with water at breakfast and after gym with some simple sugars as well).

And after those few days I improved my appearance so much, abs are more definied and muscles harder due to no soft under the skin.

Anybody is informed on the subject or can relate?

Theres no creatine in the powder I get or among my supplements.

I usually take pure whey with water at morning and whey+ destrose after gym.

Some pills as well which are bcaa and arginine before gym and fish oil and glucosamine at lunch.

No plateau, increasing in legs and back and training arms much more comfortable than before given the same weight.

But what you said is interesting, Ill do further checks,is there any documented previous of this phenomenon?
