"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

So, my date for prom is a junior. She recently got a boyfriend (ironically only a couple weeks before I asked her :-( ), but he lives 2 hours out of town. In fact, I don't believe they've even seen each other for like 4 weeks. He's not really an issue aside from that she feels she's obligated to him. (ie. I have no moral detterent in this situation, and if it somehow came down to it, I'd win in a fight. )

Anyways, it's my impression that she does like me, though doesn't want to just cheat. She said she's gonna drink, and from what I know of her, she will actually get drunk and loosen up.

The general idea is to relax and just go with the flow until the dancing, don't be overbearing, and then make a move on the dance floor. I think if I can get in with that first kiss without her stopping me and mumbling about her chump boyfriend, I'll be fine.

Do you all have any additional advice? Frankly, her boyfriend situation is so stupid to me that if I do get rejected, I'll just ditch her and hook up with someone at the afterparty. However, I do think that her liking me+alcohol helps my chances.

Thanks in advance.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

If she only lets you kiss her because of alcohol, it might lead to some problems when she's sober. It's up to you, really, but I wouldn't wait till she's drunk to start making a move.

Last time I was in a similar situation I simply told the chick to either stop showing interest or drop her 'boyfriend' and made it clear that cheating was not going to be on the menu.

these people arent "going out". the situation is immature...i "dated" a girl for three weeks in fifth grade and never saw her twice, a kind of pretend to date like big people kid of game...remind her that he's a guy and if she hasnt seen him in forever he probably assumes **** is up. or the old "he'll never know" line

Don't even bring her bf up. Act like you don't care. Girls think a man is sexy when he has the balls to do something like that. If she already likes you then, just work some kino in and sweet talk her some. Let her initiate the action so if things do get confusing in the long run, she'll always know she was the one showing the attraction before you.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Well, the night has passed, and boy did it turn out crap.

It started off excellently, and if you asked me then whether I thought I'd hook up with her, I'd have probably said yes. However, as the alcohol wore off, she became more cold and more of a *****. After dinner, it pretty much just complete unpleasantness, and I couldn't figure out why. We danced some, but...apparently neither of us enjoyed it.

Afterwards we went to my friends house, and there the awkwardness and hostility was through the roof. She didn't actually snap on me or do anything angry, but...not talking to me, not looking at me, etc. etc.

I should add that I was gentlemanly throughout the night, and tried my best to treat her well. (Note, I did work in some kino, but I later found out that me touching her thigh [not groping, just touching as I spoke to her] was why she became such a *****.)

I resigned and pretty much just got drunk. The climax was basically after she tells me that she never had any interest in me beyond a friend (although it was my impression before hand that she did have some interest, though was clearly feeling obligated to the boyfriend). I left her at that point, not even saying goodbye, and not seeing about her getting home. I'm pleased about that.

In the end, I made some drunk calls, her mother answered twice I think. After that, and after it all kinda sinking in during my ride home, I got online and kinda...let it rip in an email.

I regret not doing that in person, but...I was drunk, so I suppose my reaction was a bit slow. I probably would have ended up just mumbling and not saying **** all insulting, though if I could have pulled it off, it would probably have been more effective.

All in all, ****ty night. I did try though :p

----

I also want to add that due to ****blocking and additional resistance, I was not able to go out with her, or even have any alone time with her, before the actual prom. I think that if I did, I perhaps could have had some luck.
