"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is the continuation on my path of mental density and possible self defeat:

http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?threadid=74792

Right. Last night I went out drinking with one of my friends, and this girl showed up with one of her friends. I asked her how she liked my message, and she said something like "I gave it a bit of thought, but I was too tired". I told her I was too drunk anyhow, and laughed. Apparently she has to get up super early, but she still shows up on the same night I'll be at the pub.

Anyway, I went and sat down, her and her friend followed us, and we got to talking about random things. I went out for a bit to pick up my roommate, and in my absence, my friend got to talking to her. When I came back, he says to me "Dude, she wants to fvck you. If you don't leave here with her tonight something's wrong.". Great, now I'm under pressure. Heheh.

It seems she's not looking for a relationship (or so she says), either, so this should be easy right? Only problem is, I was having a good time and was in no hurry. I figured I'd wait for a proper moment when we were alone to tell her to come hang out at my place and drink there. This moment only eventually half arrived, and I missed the window.

I sat and talked with her some more, and brought up this poof she's been seeing, and she goes into this diatribe about how much she doesn't like the guy.

"You really opened my eyes blah blah.... I don't like guys who do a lot of drugs blah.... he lives with his baby's mom...blah...."

I asked if he was going to show up and she replied with, "I hope not.".

Anyway, her friend and some other chick started making out, and took off to their car. I'm not sure if going out to watch for a bit was a good idea on my part, but I did it anyway. She wasn't amused.

So I come back in, talk some more about this show coming up in a month that she really wants to go to (she wasn't sure if she wanted to go if I wasn't going, and she said that if she drinks too much there she's gonna start dancing, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean). Blah blah.

We're sitting there, I'm talking to my friends, her friends were long gone, (THIS was the half "right time", I was hoping my friends would sod off for a little, but they didn't), and she was looking quite bored and suddenly distanced herself from me by sitting next to one of my friends instead of next to me. Then, like clockwork, the douchebag she had been seeing rears his dumb, spikey head.

I continued talking to my friends, as the two of them sat and talked. My roommate noticed my frustration and kept saying "Think Cary Grant... think Cary Grant..". Even Cary Grant wasn't Cary Grant, so I was still at a loss for words, and kinda hoped the guy would go away.

Instead, they both get up and leave together.

I pretended not to care, said bye, and she came in for a hug, basically fell into me and spilled onto the floor laughing. I helped her up and she left with a smile and wave.

Does this guy have some sort of magic power, or do you think she was really just leaving and he was following her around like a lost dog? She did supposedly write him a message saying that she wasn't going to be there (though she could have been lying). I dunno. She mentioned something about having to get up for work early (blah blah), and when my friend asked her where she was going she said "I'm not going where you think I'm going".

This guy comes across like a stalker. He has that look to him. If she really did send that message to him, he probably scoped out the parking lot and saw her car there. I so wanted to punch him when he showed up, and my roommate wanted to do the same.

My roommate noted something about how her body language flat out said she wasn't into this guy (but it was on between the two of us), and he doubted that the two of them went off for a bit of the ol' in out, in out. I think he was just trying to cheer me up.

This is really frustrating. I know I shouldn't put so much weight into something like this when there's nothing really going on with us yet, but I can't help it. I really do like this one.

No sense dwelling on the past anymore, but I need advice on what to do next. My roommate wants me to call her up tomorrow and see what she's doing this weekend, and take her off to somewhere different, or just to come over here. I was thinking of hitting this party saturday night, maybe I could take her there. I dunno. I could always wait it out until the next time I see her, and tell her I want a change of venues so I can get her out of there before he shows up. And there's always that show coming up, but that's a month away.

Some help please (and sorry for the long post).

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

It's not like she's the only one, she's just the one I want most. Know what I mean. It's not like she was the only women there that I was talking to.

What makes this so tough is that this is something that's been building for 4 years. There's always been this tension between us, and it's coming to a head now.

It's gonna happen, I just need a little push to make it happen sooner. I could have taken her back to house and fvcked her last night if I wasn't so easily amused by stupid lesbians.

Nevermind. I'll get this on my own terms.
