...do girls initiate wanting to get coffee even if they're taken?
Girl has a bf, but she's never told me she had a bf nor has she brought him up in any conversation (I found out because it says so on facebook). This bf also doesn't work where we do and lives a little while away. I met her a few weeks ago and we get along rather well. Because we both have busy schedules, we can't stroll around and "run into each other" often.
Being single and honestly having nothing to lose, I came up with the idea of making a bet with her. Because she's not dumb and probably knows where I was headed, I was surprised she accepted it so quickly. I first suggested loser buy the winner dinner at the work cafeteria, but her job doesn't allow for a long cafeteria stay (she and I ate together one day because she was observing what our department does as some sort of work/learning thing and we both had time). However, she countered with the loser buying the winner coffee at the Starbucks located in our building. Deal.
I assume that girls in general consider something like this to mean nothing (refer to BackBreaker's quote below), but I've also never heard of a girl asking a guy out to coffee and having it mean "nothing." (What would the bf think if he heard this?) I've never dealt dating-wise with a girl who is in a relationship, so I wouldn't know any of the signs. I figured I'd ask just to see what you all thought.

backbreaker said:she is using you to get the physical attention that her boyfriend is not able to give her beucase of the distance. she knows if she tells you about him that she will not get the attention
she wants/needs the attention. many men, here, mistake that for wanting to get laid but that's not the case.
i was in a ltr for a few months and i did this to girls.
a branch swing is possile but i was in your same situtation when i first came to this forum and spent 5 years trying to make it happen almost. not worth it. just leave her alone.
