I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

During power cleans, is it ok to do a rep, put the weight down and pick it up and start again in a few seconds? Or should all of the reps be done at once? One more thing, after each rep, do you have to set the weight down or can you start another rep while still holding the bar?

Yes, put it down on the floor. Then step back, recharge for a few secs, and do the next rep. Same for Snatches.

Obviously the hang cleans are going to take alot of the leg, hip and lower back work out of the equation, but personally I think they are tougher on the shoulders and forearms.

When I do power cleans, I do not rest between reps. I slowly lower the weight until it touches the floor, then explode back up. Don't bounce the weight off the floor, as you could hurt yourself and you look like an idiot. That's the way we did it during football workouts.
