"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

By listening to various songs and paying attention to the lyrics it sounds like alot of todays popular artists were torn apart by a female with issues in the past and whine about it threw song, thats pretty depressing how thats what we have to listen to but at the same time they are " hit " song in all genres.

Please discuss

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

What is there to discuss?

At what point in history were songs NOT about heartbreak and love and chasing women? You think back in the old days, popular songs were about bear hunting and building log cabins?

"I'm gonna build me a log cabinnn and f**k lots of skaaaanks."

People were always writing about the same sh*t. Even back in the good old days.

I'd say that music sucks now because of how much of a business it became. Much like McDonald's awful food, there seems to be more money in selling crap to people who don't care about the quality of what they're buying. My advice when it comes to music: stop listening to the radio. It's damn near impossible for a truly talented and original act to break through all the red tape involved in being a "pop hit"

I've thought about this before. I think one reason that there is so much "AFC-ness" in popular music is because songs often try to stir some sort of emotion in you. If the object is to stir emotion, you can't really sing from a PUA perspective, because they teach you to be nonreactive and not to care.

I remember a LOT of rock songs in the 70s and early 80s though, that were mainly about shagging groupies. Aerosmith comes to mind.

As for guys being torn apart by women, I do think that's a pretty common experience. I'm sure the vast majority of guys experience heartbreak at some point or other. And while it's painful, it's valuable experience that teaches you lessons. Never give yourself wholly to a woman, always keep something in reserve.

I have known guys who have never had a broken heart. One friend comes to mind. I always wonder what that must be like, to go through life like that. Then I have another friend who has been heartbroken countless times, and he pines for the girl for years afterwards :/

you get my point:rockon:

Its this pop stuff the girls follow and expect us to pine and chase them the same way. I know girls listen to lyrics and learn esp BDP's on how to mess with a mans mind lol.

This fresh start for me is about reestablishment to SELF

then live again......

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Women and girls buy this stuff, its so popular now because they have more dosposable income and it further entrenches their own belief that they have this power over men which in turn feeds their entitlement.
these songs/sonnets/poems have been around for centuries but we are having a tidal wave of them at the moment.

as one female colleague pointed out to me recently and tellingly..you dont hear many females singing of such woe regarding men?

Nope. Lots of partying, empowerment, Eff you ex boyfriend and sexuality. very little pining over that lost guy. To the left, to the left.

This is why rap for all of its so called misogyny is still the shyt. It's still men saying what they want to say and to hell with everyone else. Some rock artist are starting to climb out of the AFC hole which is good. But even when they sound like they are going for it, they are still pvssy worshiping. They know the hand that feeds and they don't bite. Case in point. These are slvt anthems.

Now Jack Black, well he gets it.

And these guys get it all to well. It took a moment for the lyrics to sink in, but they got the 'fvck you I'll live my own life' thing down. The first verse alone is awesome.

If the object is to sell records then women MUST be pandered to. They decide what gets played in the relationship..if a girl doesn't like what her man is playing on the car stereo she WILL change it...ever seen a guy do the same thing? Men have become pandering sissies for the last 25+ years..notice how music has become WORSE during that time... we went from Led Zeppelin, Sabbath... to fu@king American Idol

The music I listen (metal) to has no such AFC traits, but the music I listen to is not popular and not played on the radio. The music industry puts out what sells the most. Currently, most people want to buy crap AFC music which is played on the radio.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

good observation

actually the reason for country's rock feel is because of one man..the mighty Robert 'Mutt' Lange producer of AC/DC. Def Leppard and former husband of Shania Twain...he gave Shania her sound in 1997 and it has been copied for the last decade plus.

As far as non-afc country, I'm a huge fan of this guy Justin Townes Earle. I don't know about the rest of the world, but he's one of my modern day examples of a non-AFC. Sure, he's a recovering drug addict. But nobody's perfect.

The music industry only goes in the direction where the money is at. Been that way for decades. That's why we have to suffer from American Idol tripe and it's ilk.

The reason why the 60's were exciting musically, as Frank Zappa once pointed out, was that the head honchos of the major record labels said "just throw it out there and see what happens". It may have not been their type of music, but they'd take that risk anyway. Later on as the industry grew, the younger folks who were working their way up the ladder finally got the chance at picking out what to promote. Their egos took over by saying stuff like, "I know what the people like". And we've been in a downward spiral ever since.

There are still musicians/bands out there writing real music even without the assistance of synths. Unfortunately, most of them are underground on obscure small labels. Visiting a site like ReverbNation is a good place to start when your radio isn't doing sh*t for you.

I was listening to a radio station I used to tune into frequently back in the 90's and decided to stick around for their lunch request hour. Most of the tunes they played and had requests for were from between the 70's and 90's. I only heard one request for something from the 00's. The new stuff (I'd rather call it sh*t) stuck out like a sore thumb for the sheer unoriginality or overly polished sound and humdrum lyrics.

Hopefully someday the internet will emerge as a force to be reckoned with in regards to new music making it's way to radio. Until then, as long as major labels are still pulling the strings, expect more of the same soulless sounds emanating from your FM dial.

I'm gonna leave you with one of the many bands I discovered online to prove to you that good and smart music is still being produced by musicians who actually give a f*ck. If you're not into hip-hop, you might be turned off by it, but the lyrics present a positive vibe. Something lacking in mainstream music today.

I understand that I have no place in this forum, but I'm gonna go ahead and give my two cents.

Samspade was completely right. Women pine over T-Pain, pop-punk bands, and acoustic acts that go towards the "AFC" attitude because these guys are already extremely alpha.

It's in my belief that to really get a woman to want you, you have to be completely alpha, but not afraid to show a little bit of "beta". Women always say that they want a guy that listens or a guy that's sweet and caring, but they only want these things from a guy that she's already completely infatuated with.

For any musicians out there, try this: Find yourself a girl, be completely alpha, get her wanting you. Take her back to your place, grab a guitar, and sing one of those "AFC" songs to her (I'm Yours by Jason Mraz or Trampoline by NeverShoutNever comes to mind).

Now, your natural "alpha" instinct tells you that these songs are sooo beta that they'll automatically turn a girl off. But if you've been hard-to-get and a mystery the entire time, she'll be yours in no time. Not to mention that the fact that you can sing and play the guitar will also be a major turn-on for more than half the women in this world.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
