Police Question: False Reports

Hi everyone, I have a question and would like to know some information.

Back in January of 2009, I was coerced into making false statements from a friend that borrowed my car then crashed it. Long story short, I got busted and paid the $287 fine.

I was served the papers and plead guilty (court papers said it was a summary case and from what I understand it was a misdemeanor). Paid my fine and was now, wondering since it is taken care of. Will there be any adverse effects to getting part time employment (the officer that I talked to said that there shouldn't be that much adverse effect since it was a first time offense). I do not even have a speeding ticket and my record is clean other then the false reports.

How will it look on job applications to retail stores and part time employers? Will this bar me from getting a job at say a retail store?

I've got strong references from mentors and teachers. I am also attending a decent college. Later on, I plan on owning my own business to help take care of myself financially.

I already have a good job from earlier that pays decent money ($10-$12 per hour), but I am looking for a second job now.

Contact your local court and find out how much time has to pass before you can have your first conviction expunged. Most places allow you to expunge a low-level conviction after 1-2 years of clean behavior. This would allow you to report (truthfully) that you have no criminal record on job applications.

As to how it currently looks? It's an offense of dishonesty, which will probably raise some red flags. It will all depend on what kind of job you're looking for and what the other people applying are like.

Most jobs I've applied to only ask if you've been convicted of a felony. I wouldn't worry about misdemeanors.

Well firstly, I would reconsider labeling yourself a dumb 21 year old. Surely there must be something else you can call yourself.

For your report you must contact to any local court. Normally most places are allow you to low level conviction after 1 or 2 years of clean behavior. It allows you, if you have no criminal record on job application.
