POF: Only accept messages from upgraded users

This has been going on for a while now, but there had been threads on their forums about this complaint and how POF is now taking it upon themselves to police who we decide to message.

The one that irks me the most is they LET you compose a message and wait until you hit the "send" button in order to pop up that you're unable to contact them.

The "upgraded users" one is a pet peeve of mine as I think the user may have accidentally or inadvertently put that setting.

What gets me the most is that aren't an upgraded user themselves.

POF was a 100% free site for many years and people still think it's free and I would imagine those who HAD upgraded is sliver of a percentage and where I live, chances are a woman is not getting any emails if she's made that setting...so she may have done it on accident, right?

I recall that sometimes POF would randomly pick people to upgrade...for free, right?

The market will dictate and they will have to correct their actions. Otherwise they'll go out of business.
It's funny when companies change their core values that got them to where they are eBay comes to mind as well.

POF is the bottom barrel of OLD IMO.

Get off of that site.

I dabble with OLD here and there and Bumble, Match and even Tinder seem to be a much greater selection of "normal" women.

POF definitely isn't what it used to be. I don't use it anymore. Too much trashy white girls and too many black girls.
