"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hi Guys,

I decided to write a message to a girl who I liked the sound of through myspace.com She's in my area and all. Please let me know what you think of the last paragraph of the message I wrote.

--------------------------------

Anyway, I'd like to get to know you better. Lets meet up sometime - have a drink or grab a bite. Let me know a time and place.

---------------------------------

Yeah, so some feedback would be great. Especially on the last paragraph. I tried to 'take control' and not give her a yes/no question that she can opt out.

Is that a good attempt?

Thanks
J

"Let me know the time and place" WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

You are the guy, you set the date.

You gave her total control and you haven't even met her yet.

It’s a lost cause now newb.

Important thing is to not make the same mistake again.

Cool, thanks for the tips. So what would you have written? Would you simply say 'How about this Saturday? Say lunch time?'

Thanks

Simple.

Tell her you are taking her out don't ask her.

Yea maybe thats what everyone should be learning as a rule of thumb. You dont ever "ask her out" you tell her your are taking her out, she agrees sweet if not next.

I don't take chicks off the Internet, Jesus, that's freaking weird and creepy and desperate, but if you never tell anyone we can hang out once.

That's probably what I say, as it's how I really feel.

Seriously dude you need to get her on the phone and get some good convo going. Asking chicks out by email before you've even got her number sounds like a recipe for flakes. Chicks online are flakey as hell anyway. A better plan might be to find out where she's going to be at anyway and then go there. Since she's already there for some other reason, there is more chance to practice running game on her.

Later, you can get girls direct to your door to watch a movie or for cavair/wine. With this approach you have now the only hope is to SPAM like a Mutha %$#*& and play the numbers game. Sooner or later, ya, you'd get laid, but it's not efficient or very educational.
