"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Can anyone relate to this from past experience?

Did you use to get so nervous about the thought of approaching a HB and thought she was out of your league and then tried it and discovered it was all just untrue and only in your head?

I want to hear if YOU actually went through it and discovered it was all bad thoughts.

Man I get to see and run into at least 30 hbs EVERYDAY and I chicken out.

Those hbs look SO confident even the way they walk is scary confident. It's like they are the men in this world. So frustrating :nervous:

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

The worst they can do is say no dude, if you don't try you'll never find out.

Just remember, they're all pink on the inside ;-)

Even though the top-level HBs on this earth all seem to act similar, they each have their own different reasons for acting that way. On one extreme, some of them really think they are God's gift to man -- "If you ain't David Beckham, stay the f*ck away from me." On the other side of the scale are the ones who are just using a filter to keep every AFC on the street from approaching them -- but if you have the courage to approach them and know how to have a human conversation, they are really quite nice.

Most are probably somewhere in the middle... And like any of us, you may catch them on a good or bad day. I think this is why DJs here always say that rejection is part of the game. You probably won't know what's going on in that head of hers until you actually say something to her.
