"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

lol it's really out of subject, well i'm from canada, quebec, and our school program is really different then you guys

we start with the primary school,
6 grades

after we have like college (high school)
5 grades

after we have cegep
2 grades

and after we go to university,

i see you guys talking, when u guys say freshman, junior etc, can someone explain me the school routine in USA, starting from kindergarden, and going up to university

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Ready for this? Ready...haha!

We have one year less than you for High School.

You have 13 grades total (before University) and we have 12.

That last four years are called High School.

Freshman - Think fresssssh fish. Just Arrived! 9th Grade

Sophmores - Think Softeys. Not brand new (fresh), but still new. "Soft" - 10th Grade

Junior - Junior is smaller than Senior - 11th Grade

Senior - Think Grandpa! Senior Discount type shyat! - 12th Grade

Then their is another 4 years of University, which has the same rankings.

It would probably help if you put ages as well
Senior 17-18
Junior 16-17
Sophmore 15-16
Freshman 14-15
8th Grade 13-14

etc etc

This holds true for 90% of people, but some are held back, late birthdays, or skipped a grade, but most of the time it's pretty much solid.

Very interesting. For what it's worth the O/A level used in the Uk and most of South asia goes like this:

Kindergarden- grade 9 : school, just one
O level: usually about 2 years
A level: usually another 2 years
University: some do some dont

Lots of people (ie, me) just go to a private coaching after 9. I left at grade 7 though (kicked out..)
