Playstation 2 or Xbox 360

I'm debating whether I should buy a Playstation 2 or Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 is obviously the better system, but it is also more expensive. The games for PS2 are half the price of 360 too.

Is the PS2 still a good system. Also I don't have a big TV so would this affect the quality of the game?

I will be playing games like NHL 08, Tiger Woods '08, NBA Live '08, etc...

What should I do?

I used to think the exact same way. But it would be fun to have a PS2 around when I get tired of work though.

The Xbox 360 is too expensive. I'll go with the PS2. I'd be better of taking the money i'd save and invest it in new clothes or keep saving for my car.

PS2 is the most successful console of all time. It STILL sells the most consoles, even today, about 7-8 years after its release. It has the largest library of games of any console, as well.

In other words... you can't go wrong with PS2. Unless you prefer graphics, then 360 is your god.

Wii is actually the current highest selling console, though PS2 is still outselling 360 and PS3 and has a much higher userbase in total and a big game library that you can't really go wrong with

Depends what you're looking for.

If you're the type of dude that just wants to sit back after work/school and play some vid games before you go out - get the PS2

If you love having huge halo fests/parties- 360

Buy what fits you. If you're going to get a 360 and not really use it as a party console, it's going to bore you.

whereas if you buy a ps2 and want to invite all your buddies over, you're gona have a few guys waiting for 2 controllers.

with that said.. I'm not a gaming system fan, I'm a game fan. I think I might own 10 games in all. All Metal Gear solids, all the resident Evils, Parasite eve, and all the NCAA footballs. and anything that is a real Mario game. that's pretty much it. when metal gear solid 3 hits the stands, I will buy a PS3.

Actually it doesn't really matter.

Both ps2 and xbox 360 has guitar hero.

The PS2 is extremely overpriced today, even if it looks cheap compared to the current generation. Get a used one. And don't buy new games, get them on ebay. I got most of my Xbox games for a few bucks. Don't forget to get some silly games like eye toy or even sing star, I suppose most girls coming to your house would want to try it out.

Though, once she's your gf, video games CAN be something fun to do together if you don't have anything better going on, or if its raining outside or something. They are a nice way to relax.

LOL, I've pulled chicks to my house by telling them I'm about to kick there butts in Guitar Hero. I swear to God all girls seem to love that game.

Buy XBOX 360 and get it chipped. Then you can download and burn games off the internet. I've known some guys who went with PS instead of XBOX, and they regread it, because there is so many more games for XBOX, and they are just better games, plus it's easy to chip. I install chips.

Well he mentioned that he would get a 360, but wasn't sure because of the price difference compared to a ps2

Get the Xbox 360 if you are a serious gamer, and/or if you have a hi-def TV. cause w/o a hi-def tv, ur 360 will look like half as amazing. In ur situation, i'd go with ps2.
