Got me thinking the other day. See, every week I throw down like $3 on Mega-Millions tickets. If I win cool, if I lose GA education gets a couple bucks. So I started thinking.....If you had 10 million dollars in your pocket, how would that change your view of things? You'd probably see things differently. The sense of financial independence would probably bring a certain calm to your actions.
Now lets shift back to where you are today. Most of us don't have 10 mil in our bank accounts. We are wary to that fact. We act according to our means. We are very concious of our limits. Did you ever think those limits were self imposed? That you don't act like you have 10 million, because...well face it you don't have that coin. What I'm getting at is while you don't have the means, that doesn't imply that you can't have that calm and confidence of our millionaire. Basically a shift on Fake it till you Make it. We all know that women can SMELL confidence. It's in their makeup. If you can fake that confidence till you make the means, you are in. That applies to females, coworkers, business relationships, etc.

There's another corrolary here as well: Just because someone has 10 million doesn't mean they are instantly a DJ. They can be the biggest AFC on the planet. The money just infers they have the means to impress a woman with their posessions. They STILL have to impress everyone with their actions. The 2 are not mutually assured to happen together.

So whether you win the lottery or not, live your dreams according to your rules. Act, and you will become.

My thoughts for this day~

i would buy real estate, then invest some in the stock market. Then set aside 2 mil just for a rainy day. Buy a 500k house. a nice car. And put the restin the bank lol.

o the simple life. Then i would just go party from the interest i earn.

seeing how 10 million is enough to sustain one's self on, I would invest most of it in low risk equity vehicle, than go backpacking in Europe or something for a while. Nothing out of the ordinary, one doesn't need a massive income to live the life I want to, but 10 mil would defiantly help in that department.

I would likely keep working though, just have bigger parties and spend a bit more at the bar on drinks for the boys :D

I'm getting 4.19% right now on a $10,000, 11-month CD.

$10 mil at 4%? That's $400,000 a year. After taxes (property taxes on your new pad(s), luxury tax on your new ride, and cap gains on your CDs!) you're still clearing $20 grand a month. You can live VERY nicely on that. No private island, no Lear jet, no villa.

Don't get me wrong; I could spend $10 mil in a day. Truly, though?

I'd pay off my mother's house and hire 24-hour nurses (she had a stroke and I live with her and take care of her part-time), buy the house right up the street and a small condo in the city, get veneers and the new Jag XKR convertible, and put the change in CD's and T bills. I'd set up a trust and hire a financial manager to pay my bills for me. And she'd be hot as hell. I'd never see another credit card statement or light bill again.

Then when a girls asks me, "What do you do?" I'd smile and say, "As little as possible."

Which reminds me: I've gotta go buy a Mega Millions ticket.

My wife and I kid about this once in awhile. In almost every discussion it comes down to life would really change across the board. Just think about having all the money. It would buy you time. But your friends and family don't have the time let alone the money so in the end you'd either be buying them off to tag along on vacations, hobbies, etc. Or you'd be leaving them behind. I'm not saying change is a bad thing. But things would be quite different.

Also, for many of us (if we're patient) we save up for something and buy it. Notice once again that time was involved. It gives the choices meaning. For the lotto winner they can bypass time (until the blow it all). They can take the vacation, buy the boat, etc - right now. Having anything you want "right now" tends to devalue it (IMO).

The money along with being a DJ could should help a guy land many extremely attractive and younger women. Yet I think the "right now" attitude and pace might even devalue those experiences.

Then again maybe all of the above is a huge rationalization for not actually having the money!

That being said, winning the lottery would be a nice problem to have!
