By that age any blue collar worker should have a business and people working for him, or some kind of high income on the side.

A 50 years old guy working as mechanic still and not managing his business is just a guy who didn't plan accordingly.

Like many old engineers, 50-60 years old working for another person's company for a wage, instead of expanding themselves and building something where can slowly phase out and just take of managerial taks.

You know why is that? Cause they're working with the old set of rules, get a job, have a family, get old in a job that will give you the privilege of earning an underpaid wage and 2 weeks of PTO, and if he gets laid off, good job getting another one at that age, that's why they prefer to svck off their bosses than running the risk of getting fired, that's a ****ing embarrassment. And I won't be one of those men.

To tell you more, immigrants develop business, construction, electricity, car shops, rent houses, restaurants, painting houses, cutting grass, cleaning houses and offices, doing nails, hair, and they have way more money, have their houses paid off, nice cars, have people working for them, than americans who are citizens with all that privilege, that's the biggest embarrassment of all.
This is the kind of statement that basically removes all credibility from you saying you know what you are doing. 80% or more of new businesses fail. So for every 10 people that try it 8 of them don't make it. Why in the hell would you recommend "everyone" do that when the odds are so poor and so many have no business sense or knowledge whatsoever?

How are you going to get business when you have 50x more competition than you do now? An absolutely absurd statement.

Obviously you don't have a clue but you think you do.

At this point, you don't even know what you don't know. You know it all.

When you start to understand how much it is you actually don't know about operating a business, hopefully it won't be when you are 100K+ in debt and running out of options.

Knowing how to do stuff in your industry doesn't mean jack sh!t in terms of whether your business is successful or not. That's like the most basic requirement that has nothing to do with the success or failure of it.

This would be the equivalent of saying everyone should just go to the gym and they'll look like a bodybuilder without understanding everything that it entails to get to that point which is far more than just going to the gym.

Too much writing, if you are a wagie for someone else for the privilege of PTO, instead of making a software that can make you real money, or your own consulting firm, you sit behind a computer coding for someone's business, that's very sad, being almost 50 working for someone else is something people without aspirations, that's not something I aspire, maybe you can't take the risk cause you gotta support your son. But I won't be you.
